Palm Beach tenor to sing at Yankee Stadium’s Sept. 11 commemoration

Palm Beach County resident and international opera tenor James Valenti will sing the national anthem at Yankee Stadium on Friday as part of a pregame ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The ceremony will precede the 7:05 p.m. Yankees-Mets game. The game is available to Florida residents who are ESPN Unlimited subscribers.

Valenti previously performed at Yankee Stadium during an Italian heritage game and before a 2025 Yankees-Red Sox playoff game.

Winner of the 2010 Richard Tucker Award, Valenti has performed at such renowned venues as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House in London and the Sydney Opera House.

Local audiences can hear Valenti twice during the free Galbani Feast of Little Italy at Abacoa in Jupiter at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 6 and 4 p.m. Nov. 8.

Valenti will present “An Evening of Romantic Songs and Arias” with pianist Cris Frisco at 7:30 p.m. March 6 at Glazer Hall in Palm Beach.
